Internet Trading Saves Christmas for Local Business
on Dec 08 in Business Success tagged Fabian Lord, Small Business Success Bolton, Website, Website Design by So Fruity Web Design (Admin)Sky News reports show how trading on the internet for both products and services is helping to save Christmas trading and local businesses. The figures were compiled by the e-retail trade body IMRG.
Yesterday was ‘Cyber Monday’ worldwide. Never heard of it? Don’t worry, many haven’t. It’s the busiest day in the internet shopping calendar and used as a benchmark each year to forecast potential for online trading.
What does this mean for your business? Well, the bottom line is that there is a great future in trading and gathering customers from the internet. Even, when the High Street stores are showing poor trading performance, the internet shows consistently high sales and has done so throughout this bleak economic period.
Retailers using the internet made £1.4 million ($2.29million) in just one minute showing record sales online.
This represents a 17% increase in internet trading compared to the figures from last year. The same can not unfortunately be said for traditional businesses trading on the High Street where like-for-like sales only increased by a dire 1.8%.
Fabian Lord, MD of Kickstart Success Ltd a Business Success Strategists based in Bolton, England adds,
“This is just the sort of proof that traditional off-line & local businesses need to realise the potential of pulling in both customers and sales using the internet. The problem is that many small and local businesses don’t yet have an effective web presence. This is their only obstacle to achieving greater business success online.”
Fabian saw the potential in helping local businesses and helped launch So Fruity Web Design in Bolton to provide premium quality websites, fully optimised and ready to go for a one-off fee of £250.
